The Position
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Anaesthetists (FANZCA) who wish to pursue a career in a regional hospital. You will be well supported by a team of colleagues with a good mix of experience and enthusiasm, providing mentoring and support, with full-time and part-time opportunities.
We have multiple part-time and full-time positions available.
Health Service
This health service looks after the health and wellbeing of communities across south-east NSW, covering the South Coast, Southern Tablelands, Great Dividing Range, and Snowy Mountains. Their aim is to provide a wide range of hospital-based, community health, and virtual care services for people of all ages. Becoming a recognised leader in rural healthcare and improving the well-being of the community they serve.
The Location
You will have the choice between two regional New South Wales hospitals.
You would either be based 2.5 hours from Canberra by road, in a location with daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne from nearby Merimbula, 10 minutes to the beach and 2.5 hours to snowfields.
OR
You would be based 45 minutes from Canberra, 2hrs to the beach and 2hrs from Sydney. Forget about sitting in traffic for hours and paying for parking, live in the city you'll be minutes away from work (perhaps even close enough to walk or cycle) and even one of the neighbouring villages, it's still a much shorter trip than big city living.
Essential Criteria
- Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Anaesthetics, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated significant experience relevant to Anaesthesia practice and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.

The Package
- $262,376 to 354,479 Plus Allowance
- Up to $20,000 sign on allowance (dependent on position and location) and up to $10,000 to stay.
- Salary packaging – up to $9,000 for living expenses; $2,600 meal and entertainment; $9,000 remote area housing and novated leasing.
