The Position
Skilled Medical has exciting career opportunities for Medical Officers with FACCRM or FRACGP and interest/experience/qualifications in Underwater Medicine to commence work within Defence Force sites across Australia. Due to the nature of the industry, doctors must be Australian Citizens to obtain the required baseline security clearance for these roles.
The roles offer great flexibility and will cater to GP's seeking permanent full-time, part-time or casual or locum work with the opportunity to work in conjunction with one's other commitments if required. The positions also offer great scope for work and travel between different Defence Force sites across Australia on special assignments.
Practitioners will be providing regular medical support to Defence Force Personnel in a respectful, professional and pleasant environment with a manageable case load.
This role is perfectly suited for candidates looking to build upon experience and qualifications in Underwater Medicine. There are also opportunities for general practitioners who are seeking preliminary experience and a career avenue into this field.
The positions offer attractive salary packages or locum rates.
Health Service
Providing both outpatient and inpatient care to 80,000 service men and women in the Australian Defence Force across 48 locations within Australia.
The Location
There are a number of positions Australia wide including but not limited to central and southern NSW sites.
Interested practitioners are encouraged to gain full compliance work-ability (12 week process) to offer the option of working at different locations.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold unconditional and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of 5 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience as determined by RACGP and ACRRM and a minimum of 2 years full-time experience in general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent). Experience and qualifications in Aviation Medicine is desired.
Specialist GP's or trainees seeking experience or an advanced qualification in Underwater Medicine may also be considered.
Doctors must hold Australian Citizenship which is required to pass the position's baseline security clearance.
