A Southern TAS hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Internal Medicine from 19/05/2020 to 30/06/2020
Description The Department of General Medicine accepts on average 13-15 admissions a day through the Emergency Department. The night staff are responsible for admitting (assessment and management) patients to General Medicine and also the subspecialties, along with the overnight RMO. The team is also responsible for the management of deteriorating patients on the wards (medical and surgical) including MET calls and Code Blue. The MET team is supported by ICU registrars. Note: General medicine also covers a COVID ward – this is currently being staffed by THS Registrars
Dates required ASAP to 30th June
Shifts Rotational roster covering days & evening shifts and may include some Nights
On Call N/A
Support/Supervision The role is to support a General Medicine team consisting of consultant support particularly when the team is taking acute admissions with supported ward rounds; there is also an on call physician 24 hours a day; the team also has one other registrar and one intern to manage their patients who will be of support; we have on site ICU and ICU presence at MET calls and code blues.
Locum Medical officer National Average Daily Rate Dependant on experience hourly rate $140
