The Position
Skilled Medical has exciting career opportunity for a Staff Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery to commence a permanent full-time position in a regional hospital in VIC.
The successful candidate will be working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment. Obligations include providing exceptional specialist orthopaedic services to elective and emergency patients, including joint replacements, trauma referrals and inpatients, demonstrating and providing clinical leadership and teamwork, supervision and teaching to Doctors in Training and undergraduate medical students, participation in surgical audits and department specific meetings and participating in the on-call orthopaedic roster.
Health Service
You will be working at a level 1 tertiary teaching hospital (approx. 150 beds). This facility provides a range of acute services including emergency, maternity, intensive care, general medicine and surgery, medical imaging, pathology, dialysis, mental health, inpatient and community services, and a range of ambulatory services. The hospital is affiliated with major Melbourne based universities for the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and allied health education.
The Orthopaedic department consists of staff specialists (x2), registrars (x2, one of which is on secondment with a leading orthopaedic metropolitan hospital service) and junior medical staff.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold or be eligible for Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with the Medical Board of Australia. Doctors may require to hold a Radiation Licence IA22 (use radiation apparatus for medical fluoroscopy – specialists other than Radiologists).
