A South Western NSW hospital requires a Junior Medical Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 01/02/2021 ognoing
Urgent Maternity coverage required:
Fulltime - Required from 01/02/2021 on-going / no on-call.
Travel and accommodation provided.
$120.00 per hour
Supervisory responsibilities: GP VMO on call will supervise the SRMO in daily duties and are responsible for attending and supervising procedures if required.
Experience: Minimum PGY3. Minimum 1 term experience in Obstetrics/Maternity. Experience in assessment of antenatal patients and postnatal patients. There is some birth suite and intrapartum assessments under supervision. Able to assess a neonate and perform baby checks on discharge. May be required to assist in surgical procedures. NALs experience not essential but preferable.
NALs certification where possible, not essential
Must have current ALS certification
- Able to work in a low risk GP/midwifery run Maternity unit
- Able to do a basic antenatal assessment including reduced foetal movement, SROM (speculum examination), PV bleeding in pregnancy and other maternity presentations. Able to insert IVC’s, catheters, perform vaginal examination in labour, foetal scalp clip application. Ability to review a CTG and basic obstetric US skills although not essential.
- Able to manage normal postnatal reviews of mother and neonates.
- Able to perform neonatal assessments for discharge (baby checks).
