- Royal Darwin Hospital is a Level 5 Hospital providing obstetric care to women from the Top End of the Northern Territory and Northern Western Australia. RDH has approximately 2000 deliveries per year, of whom 30 % are Indigenous. Many of these are high acuity. Maternity care is provided collaboratively in a number of models including Midwifery Group Practice, midwifery led care and medical led care
- Locums are expected to work a 5 day a week roster with duties including covering Birthing Suite, the Day Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Antenatal and general gynaecology clinics. rked. 3. At a minimum, locum staff will have at least one full day (24 hours) rostered off on the weekend. If staff are rostered on-call overnight, they will not be rostered to clinical duties the next morning. This is for staff wellbeing and patient safety. 4. Locums have the opportunity to attend the weekly Wednesday afternoon educational sessions, subject to service requirements. 5. Unless otherwise advised for rostering purposes staff will be considered available to work for the 24 hour period from the beginning to end of their contracted period (0800-0800 . All staff are expected to attend the 0800 morning handover unless performing other clinic duties (eg in OT).
