An Southern NSW hospital requires a Junior Medical Officer in Psychiatry from 05/09/2022 to 05/12/2022.
Vacancy for a locum medical officer starting asap for a 3-month minimum contract (prefer locum to have at least 2-year current psychiatry experience but willing to consider under 2 years if the right candidate)
Centre 1- 32 Bed Acute psychiatric admission centre, the unit is staffed with 4 fulltime medical officers and 4 part time VMO Psychiatrists that cover the unit 5 days per week.
Centre 2 - the unit is 16 beds and staffed with 1 fulltime medical officer, 2 part time VMO Psychiatrists & a geriatrician 2 day a week.
Rate: $180.00 per hour depending on experience.
Call back rate :$180.00,call backs paid prorate. (i.e only paid for the time called back)
The Locum will be required be on call.
All Medical Officers have a driver’s licence and is preferred if they could bring own car and will be reimbursed with a kilometre allowance as per the MoH policy.
Hours of duty: 0830 – 1700hrs – normal shifts - ½ hour unpaid lunch break
On call hours: Monday to Thursday 1700-0830hrs
Friday, 1700- 0900hrs
Saturday 1900 – 0900hrs - ½ hour unpaid meal break
Sunday 1900hrs to 0830hrs - ½ hour unpaid meal break
0900 – 1900hr weekend shifts (Sat and Sun) then on call from 1900hrs when working weekend shifts
On call: Yes - 1 night per week & 1 weekend day in 3-4 weeks
Accommodation: Yes – no allowance for animals as per SNSWLHD Policy
• Must have driver’s licence
• Must have own car – no reimbursement for travel or hire car - the health service only has cars available for on call purposes
• No allowances for phone calls
