The Position
Provide clinical Geriatric Services to the South West (SW) Region of Western Australia. The Consultant-Physician-Geriatrician will take a lead role in the development and delivery of Day Therapy, Rehabilitation in the Home and a Rehabilitation/Restorative Care Unit as well as the provision of Ortho-geriatric services and Rehabilitation services at neighboring hospital. The service encompasses both inpatient and community based services across the region and works with the SW Regional Aged Care Team including the Aged Care Assessment Team

Essential Criteria
Ability to:
Provide Specialist services to the ‘step down’ inpatient geriatric service as well as the delivery of Restorative and Rehabilitation services through the expanded unit at neighboring Campus, including direct inpatient rehabilitation services. Provide Specialist services to the Day Therapy Unit, Outreach/RITH services that will link to the step down inpatient geriatric unit.
Supervise junior medical staff including assessment of staff performance in relation to clinical competence, adherence to departmental protocols, timely and accurate documentation, communication with patients, relatives, peers, other staff and doctors in other hospitals and the community.
PD available upon request.
