The Position
Skilled Medical has exciting career opportunities for Senior Medical Officers (FACCRM or FRACGP) to commence work within Defence Force sites across Australia. These roles also offer opportunities for SMO's with skills and expertise in other sub-specialties including aviation and underwater medicine. Due to the nature of the industry, doctors must be Australian Citizens to obtain the required baseline security clearance for these roles.
The roles offer great flexibility and will cater to GP's seeking permanent full-time, part-time or casual or locum work with the opportunity to work in conjunction with one's other commitments if required. The positions also offer great scope for work and travel between different Defence Force sites across Australia on special assignments.
Practitioners will be providing regular medical support to Defence Force Personnel in a respectful, professional and pleasant environment with a manageable case load.
The positions offer attractive salary packages or locum rates.
Health Service
Providing both outpatient and inpatient care to 80,000 service men and women in the Australian Defence Force across 48 locations within Australia.
The Location
There are numerous positions Australia wide. Some locations currently seeking practitioners include Darwin, Townsville, Potts Point, Jervis Bay, Nowra, North Sydney, Wodonga, Puckapunyal, Hobart, Edinburgh and Western Australia.
Interested practitioners are encouraged to gain full compliance work-ability (12 week process) to offer the option of working at different locations.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold unconditional and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of 5 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience as determined by RACGP and ACRRM and a minimum of 2 years full-time experience in general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
Doctors who hold Australian Citizenship and are currently on a GP training program with ACRRM and RACGP may also be considered for roles. These positions may offer opportunities for advanced GP training in specialised areas contributing toward one's GP fellowship or further study.
