The Position
Collinsville Multipurpose Health Service are looking for a Medical Officer with Private Practice or a Rural Generalist Medical Officer with Private Practice to join their team on a Temporary Full-Time basis commencing ASAP up to 12 months.
You will:
• Understand your accountability to uphold the principles and practices of the Health Service’s Health and Safety Management System in accordance with legislation and industry standards. As a supervisor actively promote good health and safety practices to staff of your work area.
• Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
• Participate in Clinical Governance by proactively managing patient feedback, attending peer review audits, monitoring care outcomes and reporting promptly to the Medical Superintendent with Private Practice (MSPP) and the Executive Director of Rural Services (EDRS).
• Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
• Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service and with other medical practitioners and health professionals to ensure smooth and effective operation of the Health Service.
• The investigation and preparation of reports and other documentation, including those concerned with complaints by patients and other relevant practices.
• Ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for all patients for whom responsible.
Health Service
The Hospital and Health Service authorises the successful candidate to conduct private practice at the Collinsville Family Practice concurrently with their employment duties for the Collinsville Multipurpose Health Service.
The Location
Collinsville Hospital is situated 83km south-west of Bowen and about a 45-minute drive. Collinsville provides health services to the surrounding rural area, including Scottville. Approximate population is 2000 and you will be welcomed by the friendly locals.
Essential Criteria
- Mandatory possession of a medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
- Fellowship of either ACRRM Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine or RACGP (FRACGP or FARGP) or enrolment in a training program to these Fellowships (Advanced Registrar enrolled in the AGPT or RVTS or ACRRM Independent training programs are also eligible).
- Advanced clinical skills in Emergency Medicine or other College (ACRRM or RACGP) are highly desirable.
- Broad clinical experience in Primary Health Care and Emergency Medicine is preferable.
The Package
- Remuneration value up to $304,416 p.a. comprising salary between $7,827.20 p.f. - $8,875.80 p.f. (MOR3-1 - MOR3-6) or;
- Remuneration value up to $255,110 p.a. comprising salary between $6,776.80 p.f. - $7,199.60 p.f. (MOR1-1 - MOR1-3).
