The Position
An exciting opportunity for an Accredited Registrar in Paediatrics to join the team in Tasmania. Multiple part-time and full-time positions available!
You will be:
- Responsible under supervision of relevant specialist consultants for the day to day clinical management of paediatric and neonatal patients.
- Supervise and teach junior medical staff and medical students attached to the Paediatric Department.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of clinical care within the clinical record.
- Participate in relevant postgraduate educational activities.
- Provide consultative services to other units, under the supervision of unit specialists.
- Participate in outpatient clinics as required
Health Service
Centred around a brand new and exciting Paediatric short stay unit; as well as rotating shifts covering the new 34 bed General Paediatric ward, 12 bed Level 2 neonatal nursery and Paediatric outpatients. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by registrars and HMO staff, with consultant oversight on site during working hours, and on call overnight. The current staffing is 8 registrars/ HMO, a Senior Registrar and 7 paediatric consultants.

Essential Criteria
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program
- Current Working with Children Registration
Desirable:
- Registration as a candidate of the relevant learned college, or evidence of ongoing participation in and a commitment to continuing medical education
- Successfully completed all fellowship examinations relevant to the training program and employment within one year of fellowship
The Package
- Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000- $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation
