A Western NSW hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine from 28/06/2024 to 05/07/2024.
SHIFTS:
Fri, 28 Jun 2024 to Fri, 5 Jul 2024
Hours: 08:00 - 08:00
Capable of managing approx. 10 presentations daily. Must have completed eMeds training. Emergency, Trauma, Adult & Paediatric Support, sound clinical judgement and communicate appropriately.
You will be the sole Doctor on call 24/7. You will be called for all triage categories at the discretion of the local Registered nurses, vCare or VRGS. Expectation that you review all cases in-person throughout the day. Overnight (from 8pm) you are expected to review Category 1, 2s and 3s in-person. Category 4 and 5s will be escalated directly with you at all hours with discretion of nursing staff in liaison with yourself. Should a RN require you to attend, you will be required to do so regardless of Triage Category. On-call will also require you to attend inpatients that are deteriorating. Fatigue breaks if required are to be discussed prior to taking any break with the Health Service Manager. Support is available via vCare in emergency situations should you require additional support.
