• This Department of General Medicine has six teams, namely; Med A, B, C, D, team 3A. Each team consists of a Consultant, 1-2 Registrars and 1-2 Interns. Each alphabet team manages an average of 15 – 20 inpatients a day with an approximate 15 to 20 admissions a day through the Emergency Department. Team 3A is the Rapid assessment medical Unit (RAMU) for medical short-stay (up to 72 hours) inpatient unit.
• The medical staff are responsible for admitting (assessment and management) patients to General Medicine and for the management of deteriorating patients on the wards (medical and surgical).

Locum General Medicine Registrar required for blocks from October to December 2026 at a Southern Tasmanian public hospital.

Most critical block is 12 to 20 October 2026 (including the weekend). Roster is fully rotational covering days, evenings, and nights. Day teams consist of a consultant, 1-2 registrars, and 1-2 interns. Nights has 2 Registrars (1 admit, 1 ward). Evening varies between 2 and 3 Registrars.
